Innovators at school and in the library

For nearly 30 years, this program has opened the doors to the world of science to thousands of young people across Quebec. Hundreds of volunteer scientists host free conference workshops in Quebec primary and secondary schools as well as in libraries. What's better than people in the trade to share their passion!

Who are the Innovators?

Innovators are practicing scientists, graduate students, entrepreneurs, retirees, science educators, and enthusiasts who have developed high-level expertise in a scientific or technical field.

Our network has nearly 200 volunteers from universities, CEGEPs, research centers, private companies, public institutions, associations, and professional corporations. What's more, you can also join the team of volunteer innovators. Discover how to share your experience and knowledge to Quebec youth.

The Innovators program at school and library

Mathematics, biology, chemistry, engineering… Sciences and technologies combine in a thousand and one ways. The free workshop-conferences of the Innovators program cover the following four major areas of science: the material Universe, Earth and Space, the living Universe and the technological Universe.

For the teacher or librarian who welcomes them, it is a free activity that perfectly complements the school or library program.

In fact, this program allows young people to:

  • Understand why science and innovation are essential for the progress of society, particularly in the face of the major challenges we face;
  • Exchange directly with those who work in science;
  • Become aware of the accessibility of science and innovation, and why not trigger vocations.

Practical information

First of all, you should know that hosting an innovator in your school or library is free.

For the regions of Montreal, Montérégie and the North Shore we offer activities for young people aged 4 to 17.
