Food my dear! is a workshop intended for secondary school students 3 to 5. Young people discover the tasks carried out in factories or laboratories in food companies in Quebec. Discover the content of this free scientific activity and the reservation procedures.

The objectives of scientific animation

Food, my dear! is a scientific activity on food processing carried out in partnership with the Sectoral labor committee in food processing and Science box. Additionally, this project was funded by the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

The objective is to introduce Secondary 3, 4 and 5 students to professions in the field of food processing and the secrets of this little-known sector that is so important in our daily diet! 

This activity fits into several themes during the school year, of which here are some suggestions: food sciences, health sciences, etc.

The content of the activity

This scientific activity is based on experimentation, problem solving, communication and teamwork.

During the activity, young people make granola bars and participate in the conceptualization of a label to promote the product.

The animation, Food my dear!, is for free. 

The duration of the activity is 75 minutes.

This activity is designed for secondary cycle 2.
