Introduce young people aged 6 to 10 to computer coding with Ozobot

Ozobot is an educational tool designed to introduce young people to the basics of programming in a fun and interactive way. Your students aged 6 to 10 will discover computer coding with colored pencils.

What is Ozobot digital animation?

The Ozobot animation is an immersive activity that supports young people in learning to code. Ozobot is the robot thanks to which the implementation of code is made possible.

This digital activity has 3 objectives:

  • A fun approach to learning programming: your students will learn the basics of programming while having fun with the OZOBOT robot. This activity allows a practical immersion in the world of programming, without the need for a computer.
  • The development of collaborative skills : young people will work in teams to solve challenges and create courses. Thus, it promotes collaboration, teamwork and communication.
  • Preparing for the future: Programming is an essential skill for evolving in the IT environment. The Ozobot activity allows students to develop skills that will be valuable to them in the digital world. It also gives them an overview of possible careers.

Finally, this scientific activity responds to the importance of giving the taste for science from an early age.

The progress of the activity

They will use special sheets of paper and color codes to guide the robot in their creations. Then, your students will have the opportunity to give free rein to their creativity by designing their own unique route in the city, while following constraints inspired by the highway code.

Digital activity takes place in 4 phases:

  • 1: The explanation of the activity with the visual support of a presentation. Young people will become familiar with the Ozobot robot, its essential functionalities and its use.
  • 2: Students complete a series of programming challenges using sheets prepared in advance. They become familiar with the drawing of lines and the placement of the color codes of the Ozobot robot.
  • 3: The heart of the activity: the creation of the route in town. Students work in teams of two. They design a unique route on a city map following rules inspired by the highway code.
  • 4: A review of the activity with the member of our entertainment team. Students discuss what they have learned and we collect their comments.
