Introduce young people to programming with Micro:bit digital animations
In an increasingly technology-driven world, learning programming is becoming essential for young people. However, finding stimulating and fun ways to introduce them to this world can be a challenge. That's where our Micro:bit workshops come in. Find out what they contain and how to book.
What is Micro:bit?
Micro:bit is a small programmable machine designed to help young people learn programming interactively. During our MICRO:BIT activities, students discover the world of programming by creating games.
The objectives of these digital activities are to:

- Learn key programming concepts.
Micro:bit for 10 and 11 year olds
Students of 3e primary cycle, i.e. from 5e and 6e year, can participate in our Micro:bit activities. These sessions last 60 minutes and allow young people to immerse themselves in the world of programming.
As a team, students follow a detailed guide to the MakeCode editor, which introduces them to several concepts such as variables and logical conditions. Our animation team acts as educational support.
So, the young people will create a program to play the game of rock-paper-scissors. Each brew of the Micro:bit machine displays one of three options randomly on the screen.
Micro:bit for 12 and 13 year olds
Our MICRO:BIT workshops are also suitable for 1er secondary cycle. Students at this level benefit from a 75-minute activity.
The objective of this digital animation is to create a game on the Micro:bit machine. To do this, young people follow a detailed guide on the MakeCode editor. Our animation team acts as educational support.
Throughout this digital activity programming concepts, including variables, loops, and logic conditions, are emphasized.
More precisely, young people create the game Catch the point. In this game, a dot moves from left to right on the screen. The player presses the A button at the precise moment when the dot is in the middle of the screen. Each success earns a point, otherwise, the game ends and the score is displayed on the screen.
Ultimately, this digital experience strengthens programming skills and prepares students for more complex challenges.
Practical information
Micro:bit digital activities cost $200/hour (+$0.7/km travel). These activities are eligible for the funding measure Culture at school.
A digital animation lasts 60 minutes in primary school and 75 minutes in secondary school.
Whether in class, at the library, on camp or extracurricular, our entertainment team comes to your establishment.
We provide the equipment necessary to carry out the activity.
