Our history: from the council of young scientists to Réseau Technoscience
Welcome to Technoscience Région métropolitaine, a non-profit organization that is an integral part of the Réseau Technoscience since 1980.
Our journey began in 1968 with the creation of the Council for Young Scientists (CJS). The latter's mission is to awaken the interest of young Quebecers in science. At its beginnings, the CJS supported the establishment of regional committees, responsible for both the animation and development of scientific activities.
Over the years, the organization has evolved to better meet the needs of its target customers. In 1980, the CJS became the Scientific Leisure Development Council (CDLS). The regional committees merge and give birth to the Regional Scientific Leisure Councils which form a dynamic Quebec network. In 2016, the CDLS-CLS Network adopted the name Réseau Technoscience. This marks his continued commitment to the promotion of science.
2018 in the Réseau Technoscience proudly celebrated its fiftieth anniversary, testifying to its longevity and positive impact in the community.
Our mission: the emergence of the next generation of Quebec scientists
At Technoscience Région métropolitaine, our mission is clear and committed: to actively participate in the emergence of Quebec's next generation of scientists. We are dedicated to this by organizing a variety of activities and scientific competitions accessible to all young people aged 4 to 20, throughout the year. Our actions are deployed across the three territories of the metropolitan region: the island of Montreal, Montérégie and the North Shore (Lanaudière, Laurentides and Laval).
Beyond scientific education, we firmly believe in the creation of meaningful links between the talents of tomorrow and the players in Quebec's scientific and technological industry. By connecting young people with professionals in the field, we promote an environment conducive to the emergence of future scientific leaders.
